چکیده

To study the feasibility of network non-orthogonal multiple access (N-NOMA) techniques, this paper proposes a N-NOMA scheme for a downlink coordinated multipoint (CoMP) communication scenario, with randomly deployed users. In the considered N-NOMA scheme, superposition coding (SC) is employed to serve cell-edge users as well as users close to base stations (BSs) simultaneously, and distributed analog beamforming by the BSs to meet the cell-edge user’s quality of service (QoS) requirements. The combination of SC and distributed analog beamforming significantly complicates the expressions for the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) at the reveiver, which makes the performance analysis particularly challenging. However, by using rational approximations, insightful analytical results are obtained in order to characterize the outage performance of the considered NNOMA scheme. Computer simulation results are provided to show the superior performance of the proposed scheme as well as to demonstrate the accuracy of the analytical results.

Coordinated Multi-Point (CoMP) Transmission in Downlink Multi-cell NOMA Systems: Models and Spectral Efficiency Performance

We outline a general framework to use coordinated multi-point (CoMP) transmission technology in downlink multicell non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) systems considering distributed power allocation at each cell. In this framework, CoMP transmission is used for users experiencing strong receivesignals from multiple cells while each cell adopts NOMA for resource allocation to its active users...

Heterogeneous Networks with Power-Domain NOMA: Coverage, Throughput and Power Allocation Analysis

In a heterogeneous cellular network (HetNet), consider that a base station in the HetNet is able to simultaneously schedule and serve K users in the downlink by performing the power-domain nonorthogonal multiple access (NOMA) scheme. This paper aims at the preliminary study on the downlink coverage and throughput performances of the HetNet with the non-cooperative and the (proposed) cooperative...

Cache-Aided Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access

In this paper, we propose a novel joint caching and non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) scheme to facilitate advanced downlink transmission for next generation cellular networks. In addition to reaping the conventional advantages of caching and NOMA transmission, the proposed cache-aided NOMA scheme also exploits cached data for interference cancellation which is not possible with separate ca...

Meta Distribution of the SIR in Large-Scale Uplink and Downlink NOMA Networks

We develop an analytical framework to derive the meta distribution and moments of the conditional success probability (CSP), which is defined as success probability for a given realization of the transmitters, in large-scale co-channel uplink and downlink non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) networks with one NOMA cluster per cell. The moments of CSP translate to various network performance me...

Non-orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) with Successive Interference Cancellation for Future Radio Access

This paper presents our investigation of non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) as a novel and promising power-domain user multiplexing scheme for future radio access. Based on information theory, we can expect that NOMA with a successive interference canceller (SIC) applied to the receiver side will offer a better tradeoff between system efficiency and user fairness than orthogonal multiple acc...
